Hey Everyone!

So in case you don’t know who I am, my name is Megan and I have been a student here at MacEwan University for…… a long time. I know all that comes with being a student and trying not to lose your mind.

Well I don’t know about you but it’s that time of the semester where you may start feeling sluggish and your life motto is now “C’s get Degrees”. However, no matter how much homework I have I always make sure to get to the gym almost every day. Which I know what you’re thinking, “Ain’t nobody got time for that”, “I’m so tired, and it will be a crappy workout so why bother”. Which brings me to my favorite part of MacEwan University’s Sport and Wellness centre. The VALUE ADDED FITNESS CLASSES! Literally my life. So if you haven’t heard of these classes it’s a shame because I have met many great people whilst attending. You know what else is great? They ARE FREE for full time students! And let’s face it we’re poor (fricking $250 textbook). These classes are great if you don’t know what to do in the gym or you want to be challenged, because really I don’t think I want to be pulse squatting in the corner by myself while someone pumps iron next to me. Just don’t forget to pick up a pass for the classes because there is limited space! Another thing is BE ON TIME. There is equipment you need to gather and set up before the class and if you’re late I will glare at you (jk…but seriously).

So I will start at the class that may not be your cup of tea or that you had no idea even existed because…. it’s a Saturday fitness class. Yes I know, a weekend class that is an hour and a half, why torture yourself. Uhh you do it cause you feel Frickin Fantastic after! Also you come because of CINDY. Yes that is her name don’t let her convince you otherwise. Cindy is literally one of the most amazing women I have had the pleasure of meeting in my life. She is funny, down to earth, and can’t count worth a damn (you will see what I mean if you come to one of her classes). Also she has a voice that is indescribable. Seriously just come to one of her classes like Turbo Knockout and experience it for yourself. Anyways, the class itself is challenging but it is always different and the music is always new, so you will not get bored coming. I would describe the first 55mins of class as the biggest cardio portion and after that it is more weight and core focused. So if you can make it the 55mins of cardio you’re on the final stretch. Actually I will admit I have done this fitness class hungover and survived. That was the Only time I have been hungover in my life! So if I can do it in that condition, you can do it … sober.

On that note I will wrap it up and talk to you next time on many other classes that I have done and what I really think about them!
