It’s time! Activities to celebrate MacEwan’s 50th anniversary will kick off in mid-September with the launch of our 50th anniversary website. Here you’ll find information on the many events that will take place over the year, content that looks back on our past (including a digital timeline with highlights from MacEwan’s first five decades) and other features, including a place for you to share your memories of MacEwan. Make sure to check in on the website often throughout the year to stay up to date as new events and stories around the 50th unfold.

Pageantry celebrating the 50th anniversary – including banners and signage – is also beginning to pop up across campus. Our 50th anniversary champions team, a group of individuals representing areas from across the university, has been meeting for the past few months to plan for a full year of engagement. As part of our planning, you can expect many opportunities to bring forward your ideas on how to make this an extraordinary year for the MacEwan community.

One way you can help mark our anniversary year is by “putting a 50 on it,” using our specially designed 50th wordmark and templates for your posters, letters, presentations, email signature, business cards and more. These are now available for your use at MyPortal.MacEwan.ca.

I encourage everyone to celebrate this important milestone in MacEwan’s history and to watch for events and activities that reflect the university’s unique personality and perspectives. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
