The Faculty of Health and Community Studies Scholarly Activity Committee along with the MacEwan Library present:
Demystifying the academic publishing process workshop series: Part 1
November 18, 2022
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Room 9-201
Opportunities to publish research and scholarly works are many, yet so are the questions and concerns that can arise when choosing a suitable publishing venue. How do you identify high quality peer-reviewed journals in your field? What are the benefits and limitations to publishing in open access journals that are freely available on the internet? What are your options if a publisher asks you to sign away copyright to your work? And how can you find out whether your work has actually been cited and built upon by others once it has been published? This session will give you insight into these questions and more, while providing an overview of various ways in which MacEwan University Library staff can help you navigate the academic publishing world.
Part 2 of the series will take place in late January and Part 3 will be held in April.
