I am incredibly proud to announce the latest honorary doctorate recipients as part of MacEwan University’s Fall 2022 convocation ceremonies.
Jackie Rae Greening and Maria Ressa will each be awarded a Doctor of the University, honoris causa.

Ressa is the founder of the news organization Rappler in the Philippines. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021. Jackie Rae Greening is a pillar in the Canadian country music industry, supporting aspiring artists and helping to build the industry for over 40 years.

I am incredibly pleased that these two individuals have accepted an honorary degree from our university. Their work and unwavering commitment is an inspiration to our graduates.

Our graduates will hear from Jackie Rae Greening at the afternoon ceremony on November 22. Maria Ressa is not able to join us this Fall, but we look forward to welcoming her to campus in the future.
