We are pleased to invite you to the 29th Kyiv Konnection banquet on May 14! The banquet is an annual fundraiser by the Ukrainian Foundation for College Education for URDC’s initiatives, which are featured in our most recent newsletter here.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Jeff Stepnisky – Hotels, Halls and Temples: Memory and Place in Early Ukrainian Edmonton.

As an associate professor and Kule Chair of Ukrainian Community and International Development at MacEwan University, Dr. Stepnisky focuses on sociological theory, selfhood and identity. His work examines the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity and the collective memory of Ukrainians in Edmonton. Through community engagement and academic research, Dr. Stepnisky fosters dialogue between Canada and Ukraine, enhancing both academic and societal understanding.
