In this week’s tips and updates: Using Kaltura for incorporating videos in your Blackboard course and upcoming eLearning Blitz sessions.

Tip: As a best practice, use Kaltura for incorporating videos in your Blackboard course.

Many of us have been recording lectures and providing the recordings for students to access at a later time. However, for a better experience for your students, you may wish to consider using Kaltura streaming media platform to share videos.

The advantages of using Kaltura are:

  • Students can watch the video without waiting for the whole video to download, just like watching videos on Netflix or YouTube.
  • Kaltura has a built-in captioning functionality to help ensure your videos are accessible to everyone.
  • You can better protect your copyright and intellectual property rights on your video.
  • You can reduce the course storage size, which makes copying files into your Blackboard course (or new sections) in the future much faster.

To learn more, please see the Live Lecture Workflow infographic.

Just a few more steps with Kaltura will help you manage your videos in Blackboard more effectively!
