Marilyn Olson and Richard Boulet’s “One Molecule of Perfect & Opulent” (2020) is live on Art From Here!

The title of this exhibition makes reference to a perfect molecule, which Boulet explains is a positive affirmation.

“If a person has at least one perfect molecule in them, it is enough to give hope.” Olson adds to this: “If there is one molecule of perfect in the world, there must be others. A central message of this exhibition, Richard explains to me, is the credo, ‘mental health for everyone,’ and that art has been an important way for him to manage mental health.”

About Art From Here

Art From Here is a collaborative project involving the Mitchell Art Gallery, Latitude 53, Ociciwan Contemporary Art Collective and SNAP Gallery. Developed to support artists and generate critical discourse, connection and community, Art From Here brings focus to artists who are making work, or thinking about how to make, or not make, work, for and in this unprecedented environment.

Each Wednesday, Art From Here will showcase a new work or project by an Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton artist that addresses one or more of the following themes: community, collaboration, isolation, anxiety, technology, pressures of productivity, illness and care. A virtual studio visit with each artist will be hosted the following week so community members can engage with the artist and their work.
