I was so pleased to see close to 200 attendees at the first online Thought Leader Session with Kate White, deputy minister of jobs, economy and innovation. Kate painted a picture for us of the current and future economy and highlighted the importance of universities as innovators in Alberta’s recovery and prosperity. Her insight helped us understand where Alberta’s future jobs will grow, and the skills our students will need to contribute to the future economy.
On Wednesday, December 16, from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m., we will be hosting the second in our Thought Leader Sessions series. Paul Davidson, president and CEO of Universities Canada, will reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the higher education sector and discuss the vital role universities will play in accelerating Canada’s economic and social recovery to build a stronger, more prosperous and more inclusive country post-pandemic.
