There is upcoming work on the Valley Line West LRT that will affect bike lanes in downtown until the end of 2027, specifically the 102 Avenue bike lanes.

In order for Valley Line West construction to occur on 102 Avenue, the 102 Avenue bike lanes, from 103 Street to Rail Town Park west of 109 Street, will need to be relocated to 103 Avenue, potentially starting in mid/late September (exact timing to be confirmed). While we do not have a specific date yet, we wanted to give you as much advance notice as possible about this upcoming change, so you can let your members know. We will share the date with you as soon as possible, along with further specifics and a wayfinding map.

  • Details:
    • The 103 Avenue bike lanes are anticipated to be in place until the end of 2027.
    • The relocated bike lanes will connect to the existing bike network and will include wayfinding signage, bike signals, medians, and pavement markings.
    • To connect to the 103 Avenue bike lane, cyclists will be able to use the existing north-south bike infrastructure along Rail Town Park Trail, 106 Street, and 103 Street.
    • The City and Marigold Infrastructure Partners appreciate the patience of cyclists and others who will have to adapt their routines and shift their route from 102 Avenue to 103 Avenue during Valley Line West construction.
