Are you passionate about academic writing, meticulous about grammar and committed to clarity in scholarly communication? Pedagogical Inquiry and Practice, our new peer-reviewed Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) journal, is seeking copy editors to join our editorial team for volunteer service positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure clarity, consistency and correctness in scholarly manuscripts
  • Edit for grammar, punctuation, style and adherence to APA
  • Maintain author voice while improving readability
  • Collaborate with authors and editors to refine final drafts
  • Meet deadlines and follow the journal’s publishing schedule

Qualifications:

  • Strong command of language (i.e., English) and academic writing conventions
  • Experience in copy-editing academic or scholarly texts
  • Familiarity with APA 7th Edition
  • Attention to detail and ability to work within editorial guidelines
  • Prior experience with academic publishing is an asset
