The 10 elevators in Buildings 5, 6, 7 and 8 are original to the buildings and built in 1993. Their control system are obsolete and parts are no longer available.

This project will replace the control system while simultaneously upgrade the elevators to meet the City of Edmonton’s current code.

Current status:

The elevator next to the Cafeteria in Building 6 is on track to reopen on October 15, barring any unforeseen issues from the Authorities inspecting the elevator.

The next elevator to be closed is the elevator at the north-east of the spiral staircase in Building 7. The closure is scheduled from October 15 to November 15. The schedule of closures for all 10 elevator is attached. We regret the inconvenience caused. Questions: facilities@macewan.ca.
