Please follow these steps when requesting new furniture or disposing of old furniture. The furniture team is working hard on organizing the current inventory, allowing for more efficient and sustainable management of space and furniture across the campus.
Request new furniture
Follow the steps below to request new furniture.
- Approval from your department manager is needed before requesting any furniture (new or from inventory)
- Submit a Facilities Request Form with a description of your needs
- The Furniture team will contact you regarding the next steps, which can include a site visit, measurements, furniture choices from available inventory or catalog, test-fit design and a quote.
How to dispose of furniture: send to surplus (university furniture inventory)
Follow the steps below to send an item to the surplus supply.
- Approval from your department manager is encouraged before disposing of any furniture.
- Note the size, shape, colour and any other details of the furniture item.
- Fill out a Facilities Request Form. with your detailed description and an image attached.
- Image is required.
- Once the Furniture team reviews the request, they will help you fill out a Material Transfer form found in the Forms Cabinet and have you tape two copies to the furniture item.
Items to note:
- Any furniture request needs to be submitted through a FIMS request.
- Please do not browse or remove furniture items that are in the Shipping and Receiving area.
