Thematic Area Funding Grant

As part of implementing MacEwan’s Tactical Plan for Scholarship, ORS hosted three networking sessions in fall 2023 to begin developing areas of scholarly excellence. To further establish these areas, the ORS is pleased to announce a new one-time funding opportunity specifically dedicated to the following themes:

  • Health and wellness in communities
  • Persuasive and immersive technologies used in research and the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Energy and environment

The Thematic Area Funding Grant is a special grant of up to $10,000 that is only offered this year (this special grant will not be available in subsequent years), and must be expended between March 1, 2024 and February 28, 2025. Applications must demonstrate the involvement of a project team that is interdisciplinary (i.e., involve faculty members from different disciplines) and/or include a community partner.

Deadline to apply is February 2, 2024.
