I am pleased to announce that Lorne Gladu (Management Studies ’96, University Transfer, Bachelor of Arts ’92) is our 2023 Honorary Doctorate recipient.

Gladu, who was also one of our Distinguished Alumni Award recipients in 2007, has dedicated his career to ensuring Métis in Alberta have access and the supports they need to pursue higher learning.

His exceptional advocacy and dedicated, hands-on efforts to provide educational opportunities for Métis individuals – and to deepen the understanding of Métis topics for educators – has truly made our province a better, more inclusive, understanding place.

Gladu will receive his honorary doctorate at Spring Convocation, in the morning ceremony on June 21, 2023. I encourage all of you to watch the ceremony: details and links to the live stream will be available soon on our Convocation website.
