On June 28, 2023, we are making an upgrade to the MacEwan’s digital learning environment, paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs.

We understand that changes to the platform may cause some disruption, but everyone is working hard to ensure that the upgrade process will be as seamless as possible.

This upgrade will bring several new features to improve performance for mobile users and enhanced security to protect your data. The upgrade will also include a brand-new user interface. This is an in-place upgrade. No action is required by faculty.

Some of the changes include:

  • A cleaner, more modern design with improved navigation. The general structure of courses and the function of existing course tools will not change.
  • Activities in courses will align to the left margin with one level of indentation. More information concerning this change will be made available shortly.
  • Out-of-date Quickmail will be removed. Faculty are encouraged to use the built-in messaging in mêskanâs to communicate with students.
  • Pearson MyLab & Mastering will be replaced with Pearson LTI. For more information, refer to the document in the MacEwan Help Centre titled: New Pearson LTI.

In addition to the new user interface, the upgrade will also introduce several new features and enhancements to improve the teaching and learning experience further. These include improved grading tools, enhanced support for multimedia content, and new collaboration and communication features.
