The Facilities Department is pleased to announce that it has obtained the Integrated Management System (IMS) certification from CWB Group by combining its certification with the ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System) under a single framework.

The benefits of an IMS:

  • Performance Enhancement
  • Streamlined Management
  • Cooperation, Coordination, and Communication
  • Time and Cost-Effectiveness
  • Documentation Reduction
  • Consistency

ISO certification has driven many of the Facilities Department’s objectives and initiatives. We are very proud to have achieved this milestone.

The key to effective IMS governance is visible leadership and engagement of its employees and stakeholders. The IMS is key to maintaining integrated processes and facilitating safe, secure settings for students, faculty and staff while optimizing the environment (through energy efficiency, sustainable practices and a socially responsible manner) within Facilities’ control.

The successful attainment of these certifications demonstrates Facilities’ ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest levels of service quality, resource conservation, energy performance and consistency through quality service to meet or exceed regulatory requirements and, most importantly, to seek continuous improvement.

We are pleased to share this achievement with the MacEwan community to demonstrate Facilities’ ongoing commitment and ability to provide consistent, compliant and exceptional support to our internal and external stakeholders.

Thank you to all the Facilities staff who worked hard to achieve this goal.
