Please join me in congratulating Myrna Khan, vice-president University Relations, on her appointment as executive director of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF), the philanthropic arm of the Edmonton Oilers. She will lend her extensive experience to help the EOCF build strong, vibrant and safe communities through their focus on programs aimed at those most vulnerable in the community. Myrna begins her new role in January.
I know we all greatly appreciate the energy and commitment Myrna has brought to MacEwan University. Myrna’s skills as a community leader and relationship builder have helped to strengthen MacEwan’s reputation as a dedicated partner in our city and our province.
As the first vice-president University Relations, Myrna has set a high bar. She established our government relations portfolio and strengthened our advocacy efforts and community relations. She professionalized our fundraising efforts and created an integrated department to support our plans for growth. Myrna led a highly successful 50th anniversary celebration I’m sure we will all remember. She has also set us up with a strong start on our fundraising and advocacy efforts for the new School of Business building. Under Myrna’s leadership, MacEwan is part of key conversations across this province, building a strong foundation for MacEwan to grow its partnerships.
I am grateful for Myrna’s passionate leadership, which I know will be of great benefit to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation. I’d like to thank her for her leadership and contributions to MacEwan.
I look forward to building on this foundation and advancing MacEwan’s priorities in the new year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Annette Trimbee
President and Vice-Chancellor
