There are two means of creating visual cues to show relationships between items within a mêskanâs course section.

  1. Labels allow you to insert an extra line of text amid the files and pages you have created or uploaded. To create a label, turn editing on, go to the section you want to add the label to, click Add an activity or resource, and then select Label. You will see a standard text editor. Enter the label text as you want it to appear on the main page. Note that if you want to have your label stand out from the other items (files and pages) in a particular section, you should increase the font size of the label in the text editor. After you have created and saved your label, return to the main course page and drag it into place.
  2. Indentation allows you to, well, indent an item in a list of activities or resources. To indent an item, turn editing on, click on the Edit link to the right of the item you want to indent, and then select Move right in the menu that opens. Items can be indented several increments, so complex hierarchies are quick and easy to create. To “unindent” an item, simply click on Move left instead of Move right. The image below shows a course section that has made use of both labels and indentation.
