MacEwan’s Employees’ Code of Conduct describes the culture and values of MacEwan University employees. It outlines the ethical standards that we have identified for each other and ourselves, in order to foster and sustain an environment of trust, collegiality and openness. The Code also includes a requirement to disclose conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment, in accordance with the Conflicts of Interest Act.

I am pleased to inform you that the disclosure process will soon be upgraded from an external portal to an internal SharePoint form.

The new disclosure form will be available in the Forms Cabinet starting June 1, 2022. Disclosure dashboards and resources to guide you in this process will be posted on the portal under Human Resources > Information for Employees once the form is live.

What do I need to do?

  • To prepare for this transition, there will be a blackout period between May 17 and May 31. Please ensure any disclosures that are in progress are resolved by May 16; otherwise, you will need to re-start the disclosure and approval process using the new form after June 1.
  • If you have a new disclosure that is not time-sensitive, consider waiting until the new form is live to submit the disclosure. This will make it easier for you and your manager to review and manage the disclosure going forward.
  • If you need a copy of a disclosure completed using the ConvergePoint portal, contact HRIS@MacEwan.ca.
  • Contact your Employee and Labour Relations Consultant if you have any questions about this process or your obligations under MacEwan’s Employees’ Code of Conduct.

Sincerely,

Helen Ngan-Paré
Associate Vice-President
