Get ready for MacEwan’s new digital learning environment in 2022

What are the key dates that I need to know?

  • On January 10, you will have access to paskwâwi-mostos mêskanâs to start working in the new environment.
  • No courses will be available in mêskanâs for the Winter 2022 term (except for those participating in the pilot).
  • You will be able to teach in either mêskanâs or Blackboard in the Spring/Summer 2022 term.
  • For the Fall 2022 term, all MacEwan courses will be delivered in mêskanâs.
  • After August 31, 2022, faculty will continue to have access to Blackboard for archival retrieval of content until December 31, 2022.
  • Administration access to Blackboard for archival retrieval of information up to April 30, 2023.

Will I receive help for converting my courses from Blackboard to mêskanâs?

We are currently selecting a vendor to help you. The conversion process will likely be imperfect, but you can expect some help with the conversion process.

How can I access this new environment?

On January 10, you will have access to the mêskanâs login page. The link to mêskanâs is on the My Courses page under the Faculty menu on the MacEwan MyPortal page. Also, it will be accessible at meskanas.macewan.ca.

Once logged in, mêskanâs 101 will be available as a quick introduction.

Remember: On January 10, courses will still be delivered on Blackboard (except for those participating in the pilot).
