On Wednesday, May 26, the provincial government announced their “Open for Summer” plan, which outlines how COVID-19 restrictions will safely ease over the coming weeks. The plan outlines three stages defined by targets for vaccination and hospitalization rates: the government continues to encourage all of us to receive the COVID vaccine so that the province can move quickly through the next stages of the plan and, eventually, a complete easing of restrictions.

MacEwan is evaluating the announcement and how the easing of restrictions will impact the university. More information on the university’s response to this latest announcement will be released as plans are finalized, and we are preparing to announce our plans for returning to campus in June. Updates will be sent via email and will be posted on our website.

As always, the health and safety of the university community, and the community around us, is our top priority in making our decisions.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through the impacts of this announcement.
