This year, eight of the people recognized in Edify magazine’s annual Top 40 under 40 are tied to MacEwan. Among them are five alumni and three faculty and staff!

The alumni are:

  • Ashley Baxter, Social Work ‘11
  • Sheena Fitzpatrick, Arts and Cultural Management ‘15
  • Kirsta Franke, Journalism ‘10
  • Brianne Jang, Theatre Arts, ‘08

Elise Usunier, Bachelor of Commerce ‘13
What makes this year particularly exciting is that in addition to alumni, the list includes MacEwan faculty and staff:

  • Dr. JJ Wright, assistant professor of sociology in the Faculty of Arts and Science
  • Kevin Chavez Laxamana, instructor with the School of Continuing Education
  • Carolyn Jervis, director and curator of the Mitchell Art Gallery
