AREA 2 – Traffic Shift on 104 Avenue between 121 Street and 105 Street

On December 8, 2025, Marigold crews will begin work to prepare 104 Avenue between 121 Street and 105 Street for reopening.

To accommodate this, eastbound traffic on 104 Avenue between 121 Street and 105 Street will be shifted to the south side of the road and two lanes of eastbound traffic will be maintained. One lane of westbound traffic between 121 Street and 105 Street will be maintained until it can be fully reopened to two lanes in either direction. Westbound motorists can expect traffic shifts in the area as work is performed on the north side of 104 Avenue in preparation for the opening of the second westbound lane. All access closures on the south side of 104 Avenue will also reopen. Motorists can expect short-term left turn bans while this work occurs. Once the work is complete, all permanent left turn movements will reopen.

Pedestrian access will be maintained; however, detours may be in place. Please follow project wayfinding signage.

This work will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 8, and may extend into overnight hours. Marigold has obtained an overnight roadwork permit, in accordance with City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600. Edmonton Police Services will be on hand to maintain traffic flow.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

Drivers:

  • Eastbound traffic on 104 Avenue will be shifted south between 121 Street and 105 Street.
  • Two lanes of eastbound traffic will be maintained between 121 Street and 105 Street.
  • Westbound traffic on 104 Avenue will be shifted south away from works sites on the north side of 104 Avenue between 121 Street and 105 Street.
  • One lane of westbound traffic will be maintained on 104 Avenue between 121 Street and 105 Street, until the second lane is able to be opened.
  • Access closures on the south side of 104 Avenue will reopen.
  • Right turn movements will be maintained.
  • Short-term left turn bans can be expected while this work occurs.
  • Once the work is complete, all permanent left turn movements will reopen.

Pedestrians:

  • Pedestrian access on 104 Avenue will be maintained.
  • Bike lanes across and adjacent to 104 Avenue will be maintained.
  • Detours may be in place.
  • Please follow project wayfinding signage.

Other impacts:

  • Work will begin at 9 a.m. and may extend into overnight hours (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
  • Marigold has obtained an overnight roadwork permit, in accordance with City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
  • There will be noise associated with this work ​including that of ​heavy equipment and increased construction vehicle traffic in the area. Every effort will be made to reduce the impact to the public.
  • Access to nearby businesses will be maintained. Please follow project wayfinding signage in the area.

  • Edmonton Police Services will be on hand to maintain traffic flow.
