October is National Circular Economy Month, and next week is Waste Reduction Week! One of MacEwan Sustainability’s key focus areas is waste diversion – reducing the amount of material sent to landfill by reusing, recycling and rethinking how we manage waste on campus.
To celebrate, join us for the official reveal of our new recycled plastic sculpture on October 20 at 10:15 a.m. on the main floor between Buildings 7 and 8 (near Sport and Wellness). This vibrant piece showcases the power of reimagining waste and transforming it into something beautiful. Stop by to see the sculpture unveiled, learn about the creative reuse process and discover ways to support a circular economy on campus. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
Then, on October 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Griffin’s Landing, visit our waste diversion table with GFL to learn more about MacEwan’s initiatives and how you can help reduce waste on campus.
