Good morning,

2025 is a milestone year for Teaching Greatness. It is our half-way mark. We have so much to celebrate. MacEwan is thriving and we’ve made impressive progress toward our goals leading to 2030.

It took our collective efforts to accomplish so much in just a few years. This year’s address was recorded so it can be shared broadly. It’s not often we take time to reflect on all we’ve done, and I encourage you to watch this year’s address to see how far we’ve come.

Our success belongs to all of us. Faculty and staff, students, alumni, community partners, industry and governments have all played a part in helping MacEwan University grow and thrive. I especially want to thank our incredible team at MacEwan for being the champions of the vision, and for the work you do every day.

Our theme for the State of the University this year is Trendsetters and Trendbreakers – a key pillar in Teaching Greatness. It reflects how the MacEwan community asks bold questions, collaborates, finds innovative ways to deliver an exceptional undergraduate education and identifies new ways to contribute to our community.

In a world that is restless and full of change, it is our culture of innovation that drives our success.

You’ll also hear about what’s next as we look ahead to achieving our 2030 Teaching Greatness targets.

Thank you,

Dr. Annette Trimbee
President and Vice-Chancellor
