Alberta teachers strike notice to take effect on October 6.

Schools may close for an unknown period of time.

We recognize this may create challenges for faculty and staff with school-aged children. We know this may be stressful, and we are committed to supporting you as best we can while balancing operational requirements.

To help prepare:

  • If you haven’t already, plan for alternative childcare arrangements, beginning October 6.
  • If you anticipate difficulties arranging childcare, reach out proactively to your department chair, out-of-scope manager or dean’s office so they can work with you on possible options.

Please remember that children cannot be brought to the workplace as a substitute for childcare.
