MacEwan University has launched a new MacEwan ID, now managed by IT Services. You can replace your physical card and add a mobile ID to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

The MacEwan ID is your official MacEwan identification and you can tap your physical card or iPhone, Apple Watch or Android device to access:

  • John L. Haar Library
  • Sport and Wellness (tap access will be available September 2025)
  • Campus printers (tap access will be installed through late July/early August)

Your mobile MacEwan ID functions just like your physical card. If you prefer not to use the mobile version, we encourage you to replace your current physical ID card by visiting the Technology Support Desk in Room 7-292.

How to get started

There’s minimal set-up required and most users will be able to begin using it in minutes. Follow get your mobile MacEwan ID:

  1. Download the Transact eAccounts Mobile App through the Apple App Store or Google Play
  2. Select MacEwan University and login with your MacEwan account
  3. Add your photo (see photo requirements for guidance)
  4. Click “Add to Wallet”

Students will be able to get their ID for the Fall 2025 term starting August 12, 2025. Until then, students will be required to use their physical card.
