On May 30, the negotiating teams for MacEwan’s Board of Governors and the Grant MacEwan Faculty Association (GMUFA) met as part of ongoing collective bargaining. The parties are pleased to report that, during that meeting, agreement was reached on Articles 9 – Appointment Review and Promotion and Article 10 – Criteria for Extension of Probation, Tenure and Promotion. 

Negotiations on Article 12 have also been productive, reflecting a mutual desire to refine workload assignment and clarify the mechanism for appeal. From these discussions, which resumed on June 5, the parties are optimistic and anticipate that a fair and equitable agreement is possible. 

To focus on a swift and diplomatic conclusion to negotiations, the parties have agreed to pause further mass communications related to bargaining for the immediate future.
