Did you know that May is Sexual Violence Awareness Month (SVAM) in Alberta? This important month serves as a time to reflect on the ongoing efforts to end sexual violence, recognize its deep impact on individuals and communities, and take meaningful action toward fostering a safer, more respectful society.

Sexual Violence Awareness Month encourages all members of our community to stand in solidarity with survivors, challenge harmful behaviours and actively participate in creating a campus culture rooted in care and consent.

At MacEwan University, the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Education & Response is proud to support SVAM through a range of initiatives that promote education, awareness, and engagement.

Visit our SVAM display in the University Library to explore a curated collection of materials on sexual violence prevention, consent and advocacy.

Explore our website for workshops, learning tools, and available supports for students, staff, and faculty.

Stop by information booths across campus to learn how you can contribute to a safer campus environment.

Everyone has a role to play in ending sexual violence. By increasing our knowledge, speaking out and supporting one another, we can help build a campus and a broader community where safety, respect and accountability are the norm.
