The Office of Health, Safety and Environment is offering free fire extinguisher training. Students, staff and faculty could benefit from this training. The first part of the training will prepare you with basic knowledge of the classes of fire, the different types of fire extinguishers at our university and the safe use of a fire extinguisher. The second part is hands-on and provides trainees with the opportunity to use a state-of-the-art training system equipped with sensors to put out a digital flame with a laser extinguisher.
How do I take the training?
- For the online (first part) training, go to mêskanâs and select the Health, Safety and Environment category, then select the Fire Extinguisher Use at MacEwan course.
- For the second part, go to MacEwanLife and select the Health, Safety and Environment category to view and register for a Fire Extinguisher hands-on session.
