On April 1, we ran a MacEwan.ca/News story claiming the Griffins Athletics teams were being rebranded to the MacEwan Magpies.

The fake headline was made all the more believable with help from Lauren Hunter, a radio DJ at Sonic 102.9 who made an incredible magpie costume for Halloween last year. With help from Griffins Athletics and Sport and Wellness, we were able to bring Lauren to campus for a top-secret photo shoot with Griff ahead of the story.

But the analytics from yesterday’s posts on social media were no joke! Our content was seen over 56,000 times (impressions) and shared over 600 times in the span of 24 hours across our social media platforms.
