Pride Week at MacEwan is taking place March 10-14!
In March each year, the MacEwan Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity hosts Pride Week, celebrating the diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ communities and allies. This awareness-raising and celebratory week aims to create and support a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the university community and to build bridges to the broader Edmonton community.
We invite you to join us in celebration and solidarity as we march across campus towards our opening ceremony on Monday at noon. Then throughout the week, experience events feature research, art, education, history, dancing, and community-building. Find the full range of events on the Pride Week website.
This year, MacEwan joins our friends in the YEG Campus Pride Network consisting of the University of Alberta (Fyrefly Institute and the Landing), NorQuest, Concordia University, NAIT, and The King’s University in for YEG Campus Pride Week across our campuses. Through a collaborative approach, we ensure that all students, faculty, staff, and the Edmonton community have access to high-quality programming for Pride Week.
Faculty can encourage students to participate in Pride Week in all kinds of ways! Share promotional materials, bring your students to the Pride March, direct students to the Pride Week website for event details and to sign up to volunteer. We even have a sample lesson plan that includes a rubric for student reflections on Pride Week! Find it here.
We look forward to seeing you at Pride Week 2025!
