Elevator #8 (southwest of the spiral staircase) in Building 7 has completed its modernization and was reopened on Thursday, Feb. 6. Elevator #9 in Building 8 is closed for modernization. It is scheduled to reopen on Mar. 6.

Background

The 10 elevators in Buildings 5, 6, 7 and 8 are original to the buildings and built in 1993. Their control system is obsolete, and parts are no longer available. This project will replace the control system while simultaneously upgrading the elevators to meet the City of Edmonton’s current code.
