Starting January 2, Facilities will be starting to change all  of the locks in Building 5. We are working with the  key requestors and key approver for Building 5 to supply all occupants with a new proxy card.

What this means for you and your staff is:

  • Everyone will be issued a proxy card (tap card) unless you have one already, which will be reprogrammed to include doors that you once opened with a keycard (swipe card). If you have access to rooms in other buildings that still utilize the swipe card, you will need to keep your current key card for access to those rooms.
  • Occupants will receive an email notice when their keys are available.
  • All new keys can be picked up at Security, in 9-112.
  • All cards will have a hole punched in them. Please do not punch another, as there are antennae inside the cards.

Convergint Technology will be the contractor completing this work for MacEwan. They will be slowly working through the building starting on the first floor and working up.
