Are you curious about specifications grading? Research shows that this grading system can increase student motivation and produce higher-quality work than traditional grading systems (Nilson, 2016). This system marries flexibility and student agency with rigor and high standards.

This session is facilitated by Dr. Tai Munro (School of Continuing Education) and Ashley Stasiewich (School of Business), who have integrated specifications grading approaches in their courses. The session will include the benefits and challenges of using specifications grading, single-point rubrics, starting with single assessments and setting up grade bundles for different types of classes.

Two online sessions are offered:

November 29, 10-11 a.m.

December 2, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
