Mitchell Art Gallery invites all students, faculty and staff to join us this Saturday for a free, drop-in exhibition tour of our Fall exhibition, Cait McKinney and Hazel Meyer: GLAD YOU CLOSER HOME / NEW WHITE WHISKER MARY. The tour will take place Saturday, October 19 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the gallery at 11-121 on the first floor of Allard Hall. This event is held in conjunction with Edmonton Design Week.
With a title borrowed from a telegram in architects Mary Imrie and Jean Wallbridge’s archive, GLAD YOU CLOSER HOME / NEW WHITE WHISKER MARY, Cait McKinney and Hazel Meyer’s immersive exhibition playfully imagines and speculates in the spaces between the correspondence, amateur 8mm film recordings and modernist buildings that these remarkable women have left behind.
GLAD YOU CLOSER HOME / NEW WHITE WHISKER MARY is free and open to all, and runs until December 7. Mitchell Art Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 12-5 p.m., with extended hours from 12-7 p.m. on Thursdays.
