We’re officially in our 2023 United Way campaign and there are lots of ways to get involved! We’re thrilled to bring you more details about the three upcoming events that will make a profound impact through our 2023 United Way campaign and share the ways that you can give!

Lara McClelland, vice-president, University Relations, notes how important this campaign is within our role in the community: “As we prepare for these upcoming events, I am inspired by the unwavering commitment of our MacEwan community. Your support, dedication, and participation make our vision for creating pathways out of poverty a reality. Together, we can make a significant impact, and I’m excited to see the positive change we can bring to our community.”

How to Give

This year, there are three ways you can support those who need it the most!

  • Give a direct donation to United Way of the Alberta Capital Region: Support United Way’s programming through payroll deduction or a one-time gift, and help make sure no one is left behind.
  • Support our Dare to Dream Bursary: This unique bursary empowers youth from low-income backgrounds to build a successful future, beginning with a post-secondary education.
  • Help the SAMU Food Pantry with a donation: SAMU provides a food pantry to help students with food security. You can drop off non-perishable food donations at bins across campus or make a monetary donation at the link below!

These events offer you the opportunity to join hands with us and create pathways out of poverty.

Superhero Week – November 20 – 24

Be a superhero for those who need it most! Join our senior leadership in wearing capes and superhero gear throughout the week; be a superhero by donating to our 2023 campaign.

24-Hour Giving Marathon – November 24

Tomorrow is our 24-Hour Giving Marathon, an event dedicated to making a significant difference in our community.

Compete against other departments and teams at MacEwan to see who can raise the most.  Choose your department, submit your one-time donation and help your department come out on top!
