The Teaching Impact Fund supports the development or implementation of high-impact teaching tools or practices to improve student learning.
Funded initiatives are evidence-based and supported by the literature. We encourage projects that bridge disciplines and that result in the creation of resource materials that can be used by other faculty members wishing to implement similar approaches. Though the Teaching Impact Fund is not a research grant, it can support initiatives that could lead to further Scholarship of Teaching and Learning research that is intended for publication or conference dissemination.
The Teaching Impact Fund can be used to support new initiatives (build projects) or implementation of existing tools and practices (implementation projects).
Build Projects: Initiatives in which a faculty member devises a new evidence-based tool or teaching practice and creates openly available resource materials to facilitate future implementation.
Implementation Projects: Initiatives in which a faculty member implements an existing tool or practice that is evidence-based and has a demonstrable, positive impact on student learning.
Priority will be given to applicants who did not receive the Teaching Impact Fund within the last year.
Award limit: Up to $5,000 per project
