Meet the new student workers joining MacEwan’s team as Waste Diversion Ambassadors: Rhiannon Bassett, Kayla Friesen, Iannie Gerona and Devin Rusk. MacEwan’s Waste Diversion Ambassadors are here to guide the MacEwan community towards reaching our goal of 30 per cent waste diversion from landfill by the end of September. All four team members are student workers and passionate about the health of the environment, balancing their MacEwan studies with these environmental awareness jobs.
As you may have noticed, there are compost bins all over campus now. Please use them, and try your best to keep landfill waste from falling in (those dang coffee cups!). We are mining for nutrients from the trash to become a soil amendment (booster) for local farms. If you have any questions, about what goes where with respect to waste bins, don’t hesitate to ask one of our Waste Diversion Ambassadors!
