The Travel Authorization form has been updated and is now available in the Forms cabinet. The new form was recreated as a SharePoint form and included a workflow that streamlined the process for users.
The form workflow changes include the following:
- A separate workflow based on the traveller type (Student, Faculty, Staff, and Groups).
- An automated email notification to Travel Authoriser to review and approve/decline the submitted form.
- An integrated hazard assessment for research-related travel.
- Group leader’s ability to create a Travel Authorization form and add each group member’s details
- Each group member listed will receive an automatic notification with the travel waiver form.
- Once travel waiver forms are completed and submitted by the travellers, the group leaders will receive the travel waiver forms.
Travel Policy Update
The Travel Policy was updated and became effective on April 1, 2023. The requirement for faculty and staff to register their travel within Canada was removed; this reduces a traveller’s administration time.
Students must still register all travel, including domestic travel; this will allow the university to be aware of all students’ travel and respond to incidents or emergencies as required.
