EPCOR will be performing work to clean and reline the existing sanitary line along 105 Avenue. This work will be completed in two stages:
- Stage One – Sanitary pipe cleaning
- Stage Two – Relining the existing pipe
Before the relining work can begin, EPCOR will be cleaning the existing sanitary services. Using hydrovac equipment, water will be flushed into the pipes through a number of existing manholes on 105 Avenue to remove solids and debris. All solids and debris will be removed and disposed at an approved dumping site.
Once cleaning has been completed, the existing sanitary pipes will be relined using a trenchless relining method called Cured in Place Pipe, where a sleeve is inserted into the pipes and then cured, maintaining the structure of the existing pipes.
Stage One work is anticipated to begin the week of August 8, 2023, and is expected to be completed within two weeks. Cleaning activities will be performed at multiple manholes along 105 Avenue each day.
Stage Two relining work is anticipated to begin in early October 2023 and be completed in November 2023. More detailed information will be provided to residents and businesses prior to this work beginning. Please note, the above timelines are an estimate and may change based on weather, progress and construction conditions.
Increased sewer odours may be present while cleaning activities are underway. Residents may notice the odours, but are encouraged to contact us in the event they are overly strong. Residents may also experience dust and general noise from the construction equipment that will be used for material delivery and debris removal.
