The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is offered within a small group setting and is designed to enhance the teaching effectiveness of both new and experienced educators. During this four-day in-person workshop, participants design and conduct three “mini-lessons” and receive verbal, written and video feedback from the other participants.
Using an intensive experiential learning approach, participants are provided with information on the theory and practice of teaching adult learners, the selection and writing of useful learning objectives with accompanying lesson plans, techniques for eliciting learner participation, and suggestions for evaluation of learning. The ISW offers a safe and collegial space to try out new teaching ideas.
Enrollment for the ISW is limited to a maximum of six faculty members per session.
The deadline for registration is Wednesday, August 16.
This four-day workshop runs August 21 through 24. Participants must attend all four days to receive their certificate.
