I am thrilled to be sharing wonderful news with you today about the future of MacEwan University!
The government of Alberta is making a financial commitment of $125 million over four years so that we can expand our campus with a new School of Business building. I want to thank Advanced Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides and his government colleagues for this historic investment in MacEwan and its students.
The School of Business building is an important component of how we will realize the vision of Teaching Greatness. It will allow us to grow – our perpetual motion – to meet increasing demand from students and help satisfy the needs of the many business and community partners who are eager to hire our talented graduates and alumni. With this funding, we will be able to open the doors to the new building in 2027, and welcome an additional 7,500 students to our campus. This new building will be a benefit across the university, enabling us to grow across all faculties and schools.
The government’s significant investment recognizes the strength of MacEwan as an exceptional undergraduate university. That excellence is because of our faculty and staff who are deeply committed to excellence and our students. Thank you for making MacEwan an outstanding institution – and for contributing to our past, present and future successes.
I am so proud of this sign of support by the province and the confidence that the government has shown in MacEwan. We have reached this pivotal milestone because of the work you do every day.
With gratitude,
Dr. Annette Trimbee
President and Vice-Chancellor
