Construction preparation activities for the City Centre Campus Exiting Project are scheduled to begin on June 13. The purpose of this project is to increase the number of exits available in Buildings 7 and 8 and address temperature and ventilation issues.

Please refer to the attached plan in conjunction with the work schedule below:

  • June 13: begin setup of Building 8 covered walkway and second-floor pedway temporary construction walls. This setup will take approximately one week. Construction walls will only cover the southern half of the pedway and the public will still be able to use the pedway to travel between Building 7 and 8. The covered walkway into Building 8 will be open for use starting the week of June 20.
  • June 20: begin setup of main floor construction area. The two Building 7 and the southern Building 8 vestibules will be closed and remain closed until project completion (Spring 2023). During this time, Building 8 may be accessed from the northern vestibule or alternative entrances (e.g. from the SAMU building). Building 7 may be accessed from the clock tower entrance. Signage will be posted on construction walls indicating a detour.

If there are any project-specific questions/concerns, please contact Patrick Christopher (cell: 780-819-5811, e-mail: christopherp2@macewan.ca).
