The School of Continuing Education’s NEW Professional Health Education (PHE) unit is launching a pilot program this fall that realigns the Hospice Palliative Care Certificate program to reflect interprofessional competencies. This program uses a hyflex delivery mode to ensure equitable access to this specialty education for healthcare professionals across Alberta.

We are very happy to partner with two groups who are also working to advance palliative and end-of-life care in Alberta. We are working closely with the Covenant Health Palliative Institute to realign the program content to reflect the newly developed Alberta Palliative Care Competencies and Framework, providing a coordinated approach to the advancement of palliative care across the province. We are also excited to partner with the Mobile Integrated Healthcare, Emergency Services, team at Alberta Health Services. This partnership recognizes the important and expanded role of paramedics in providing palliative and end-of-life care and allows us to ensure the realigned program provides meaningful interprofessional education that builds on existing opportunities.

The PHE unit is truly changing lives with this program! If you are a regulated health professional or you know one who may be interested in participating in the pilot this fall, please share/fill out this form.
