As MacEwan University continually strives to become a more inclusive place, we are updating our information systems to reflect our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. These updates have new student self-identification options for pronouns and gender identity, among others. Completion of these new EDI fields is completely voluntary and will be available on May 16 in the profile tile of myStudentSystem.

Information such as preferred/chosen name and pronouns may be shared publicly as part of class rosters and accessing student services. All other EDI information (such as gender identity, sexual orientation, visible minority, ethnic/cultural background and disability) will remain private and confidential and shared only for the purposes of aggregated statistical data to help us better understand the diversity of our university community.

You can learn more about our campus initiatives by visiting our website.

If you have questions about the collection, use, or disclosure of EDI data, please contact the Information & Privacy Office at privacy@macewan.ca.

Student views and instructional information can be found in the Student Views section of the Campus Solutions Training & Instructions self-enrol class in BBLearn.
