Over the past year, in celebration of the university’s 50th Anniversary, the Retirees of MacEwan University (ROMU) have been working on producing a book to capture stories from our members about their experiences at MacEwan. These stories have been supplemented with articles retrieved from the university’s Archives that document significant events in the 50-year history. The help provided by Valla McLean and Kathy Blasko in retrieving archival material was instrumental in this process.
We are pleased to announce we have achieved our goal and the book is now in print. Titled 50 Years of MacEwan Memories, the book is now available for purchase through the MacEwan Bookstore, online and in the campus store, at a price of $29.95 plus GST, and applicable shipping costs, as required. Information on the book can be found here. With an initial printing of 100 copies, demand should be high. Plan to get your copy early.
ROMU expresses appreciation to both the MacEwan Bookstore and Print Services for their assistance and support in getting the book printed and available for sale. Financial assistance for editing was also provided through a grant from MacEwan’s 50th Anniversary Planning Committee.
With MacEwan’s 50th year coming to an end, the retirees invite you to visit us at our information desk in the foyer (April 29 and 30) or in our Hospitality Room (Room 7-146, Building 7 on April 30). We look forward to seeing you on campus and sharing memories of our time at MacEwan. We especially invite you to the official launch of 50 Years of MacEwan Memories, which will take place in our Hospitality Room at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30.
