As we approach the Fall break, I would like to once again express my thanks to everyone who has uploaded their proof of vaccination or rapid-test submissions to Safe@MacEwan. We strongly encourage everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine: it is the most effective way to protect yourself and our community from COVID-19 and the severe outcomes of the disease.

All the information from the submissions received to date has been validated, and we are now moving into the next phase of escalated enforcement of the program.

October 14 update

  • A message with detailed information about the vaccination program including deadlines and details about vaccination and rapid testing on campus for the Winter term was distributed to students today. It is posted on MacEwan.ca/Coronavirus.
  • Our strategy for a safe return to an active campus remains the same. Faculty and staff can expect to receive more information about the university’s plans regarding vaccination and rapid testing for employees for the remainder of the Fall term and the Winter term in the coming days.
  • We continue to require that anyone coming to campus wear a mask or face covering. We also  ask that you continue to observe best practises for reducing the spread of COVID-19, including physical distancing.

Please check your email and MacEwan.ca/Coronavirus for the latest information on MacEwan’s response to the changing COVID-19 situation.

Once again, thank you for helping to keep our community safe.

Dr. Annette Trimbee

President and Vice-Chancellor
