Students with a disability or medical condition can receive accommodations once their needs have been discussed with a staff member from MacEwan’s Access and Disability Resources (ADR). If you are aware of a student with accommodations, here are a few tutorials on how you can make your course material and activities accessible.
1. Let your students know about the various accessibility features in Blackboard Learn.
2. Ensure virtual lectures are recorded and captioned.
- Record lectures via Collaborate, then download the recording and upload it to Kaltura to add to your Blackboard course.
- Record lectures via Kaltura Capture.
- Order captioning in Kaltura.
3. Adjust the test availability exception to give an individual student more time to complete the test.
