I am delighted to announce that nominations are now open for MacEwan University’s first honorary doctorates. This is a very significant milestone for the university.

MacEwan’s Doctor of the University, honoris causa, is a ceremonial honour that will celebrate the achievements of individuals from outside our institution who have had a significant impact in their areas of expertise, and whose work and achievements embody the university’s values.

Beginning this year, we plan to confer honorary doctorates during our spring and fall convocation ceremonies. I look forward to honouring and building relationships with the recipients, who will undoubtedly become excellent role models for our university community.

I invite you to consider the nomination process, eligibility and criteria at MacEwan.ca/HonoraryDegree, and submit your nominations.

Nominations for honorary doctorates will be accepted throughout the year; however, the deadline to nominate someone to receive an honorary doctorate at the 2021 Spring Convocation is April 18, 2021.

Sincerely,

Dr. Annette Trimbee
President and Vice-Chancellor
